Wine wow updating blizzard update agent
My box was on accept_keyword amd64, and I switched to ~amd64.And from this day on, the game stopped to work (it worked perfectly before).Uncheck Peer to Peer, and check Don't throttlem then click OK.
I will have to someday switch my 32-bit install to 64-bit as I keep on running out of RAM in Wo W.
I figured I’d see how well updating the client goes over first before I sink 40 bucks (plus 15 for the month) into a paperweight.
This guide makes the following assumptions, though it may hold valid under other conditions: The updater is attempting to dowload updates to setup files, i.e., “Updating Setup Files”.
There is an icon with a small CD disk imposed on top of the usual Wo W icon. Then, run in order to generate a new folder (I’d keep the original terminal open, so you can watch for when a new Agent.$some_number folder appears): Once the Launcher starts and you can see the new folder, kill the Launcher process.
But that doesn't explain why it isn't working on my other environment... A Core-i5 laptop using HD4000, mostly cloned from the above, running a dual boot 64-bit Linux. I tried partially wiping my Windows environment from my 32-bit installs but still did not seem to fix the problem (there are some settings I didn't want to wipe...)._________________One could say it's a 32-bit Linux problem but I don't know...
Currently I sort of maintain four installs of Wo W on my machines - 1. A Core-i7 using the HD3000 cloned from this install, and not unexpectedly it doesn't work either. A Core2 duo with i965G CGC running 64-bit Linux only. I tried partially wiping my Windows environment from my 32-bit installs but still did not seem to fix the problem (there are some settings I didn't want to wipe...).
Simply double-click the downloaded file to install it.
Update Star Free and Update Star Premium come with the same installer.
Make sure you put the URL and thread title in the body so I can know what issue we're talking about.
Important note: Make ABSOLUTELY SURE you run the latest Wine version, as well as the latest version of your graphic card drivers.
If you miss this tiny part of the process, Open GL will not install with Wine and Wo W will not run, throwing the same error as listed above.
